Unity One Credit Union
Home

In 1927, the Credit Union that eventually became Unity One Credit Union was created by a group of railway clerks with the Great Northern Railroad located in Minnesota. This small group of employees recognized the need to provide an alternative to "for-profit" financial institutions that wouldn't make loans to people of average means and usually charged high rates and fees.

From our humble beginnings, we have continually strived to promote thrift and provide low-cost loans to members, exemplifying the credit union philosophy of "people helping people". Unlike other financial institutions, we work for your benefit. That's our purpose as a member-owned, not-for-profit cooperative. To reflect this unique benefit of credit union membership, our profits are returned to members in the form of lower rates on loans and greater returns on savings and investment accounts. Another benefit is our volunteer Board of Directors who are elected by the membership and who works to secure your financial goals.
